Re- launch of Toyota petrol variants

9th August, 2016: With the ban on the higher cc diesel vehicles in Delhi last year, the automobile market had to face a lot of troubles regarding the sales of their diesel variants. Delhi, being the national capital, is a good sales target for the auto- industry, now fails to fulfill the consumer- producer demands of the hour. This ban recently became one of the causes of disruption for the Auto- market. Similar to Mercedes- Benz, the joint- Indian venture, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched Toyota Innova Crysta’s petrol variant to fulfil the capital’s demand of their desired car.

The company is waiting for the Supreme Court to take its next step regarding the diesel ban on over 2000cc vehicles as it plans to launch petrol variants of their SUV car , Fortuner; which cannot be sold in the capital city with the ban. Since last December, Delhi’s petrol car demands have risen constantly as the passanger demands shifted to the petrol cars. Due to the rise in this demand, the Toyota Kirloskar Motor will start the petrol Innova Crysta’s bookings from today and will try to make them reach the consumers by the end of the month.

The new Innova Crysta petrol has been priced between Rs 13.73 lakh(approx) and Rs 19.62 (ex-showroom Delhi). The car will be available in both manual and automatic transmission versions. While the manual transmission will have a fuel economy of 9.89 kmpl, the automatic variant could deliver 10.83 kmpl as per ARAI tests.

The Auto- Company has managed to sell over 24000 units of Innova Crysta’s diesel variants since its launch in May this year and also has a pending order of 9000 units that are left to be delivered yet.
