The Czech automaker, Skoda has launched its face lifted Rapid today. The Skoda rapid that first made its entry in the year 2011 and has now completed 6 years in India. Quite popular amongst the C segment sedan lover this face lift was launched at the price of 8.27 Lakhs(ex-showroom).
Interiors
A dual tone, Mocha and Ivory color scheme has been chosen to give the car a classy appeal. It also has a climatronic control system that automatically sets the cabin temperature as per the need. A multi function display in the instrumental cluster that provides you all the updates on the travelling time, distance travelled, average speed, immediate consumption, travel distance before refueling service interval and the outside temperature. An adjustable steering wheel and a front and rear central armrest provides you a comfortable drive.
Exteriors
The Rapid has typical sedan proportions – long hood, twin cabs and a befitting boot. The typical moustache like radiator grille is flanked by the bulbous blacked out headlamps. With a sleek black roof and the stylish side decals, this Czech beauty definitely grabs attention. Also the C-shaped tail lamps add that extra bling.
Transmission
The DSG dual clutch gearbox has two clutches with electronically controlled gear selection. This allows for lightning fast gearshifts in a smooth manner, improved handling and also better fuel economy than a manual transmission. If you prefer taking matters into your own hands, the Tiptronic gearshift should make you feel right at home. The 1.5 Turbocharged Common Rail (TDI CR) diesel engine is SKODA’s most powerful yet. It delivers 105 BHP (77 kW) with best-in-class torque of 250 Nm at 1500 – 2500 rpm with up to 21.66 kmpl fuel efficiency (as per rule 115 of CMVR). The MPI petrol engine is smooth and silent for extra driving pleasure.
Safety
The new Skoda rapid comes with a dual front airbag, an ABS system, front and rear fog lights and also a parking assist at the rear.
Features
This C segment Czech sedan is power packed with features. The center console houses the 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth and other connectivity options and comes with four speakers and two tweeters for the top-spec car.
All four power windows get the auto-up and down functions with anti-pinch.

Skoda India has launched the 2016 Rapid facelift with prices starting at ₹ 8.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Rapid will be available in three variants, namely the Active, Ambition and Style. The prices for the petrol variants ranges from ₹ 8.27 lakh to ₹ 11.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Those looking for the diesel variant of the new Rapid, Skoda has priced it from ₹ 9.48 - 12.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Rapid competes in the highly competitive C-segment where it fights with its twin, the VW Vento along with the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and Honda City.
