The most voluminous automobile industry in the world straight from Germany wishes to make it to the SUV segment of India's auto sector. The car that Volkswagen wishes to bring to the country first is its global fame Tiguan. What that strategize is clear, the Global Market Research Company recently shared that SUV growth and demand will be reached to top-position in the market among the passenger vehicles by 2020. Thus, this seems to be the right time and right opportunity to bring there sports utility vehicle to India.
With this, VW aims to establish itself as India's choicest 'accessible premium car brand'. With the entrance in this segment, it will become one ofthe few names in the auto sector that has offerings in all the segments in their kitty. "Now we start building that upper end of the scale. These segments are smaller volumes, we are not aiming to push volumes there, but we think we can credibly get customers into the VW brands" as was quoted by Mayer, the groups sales head of VW India.
The Tiguan will come in competition with Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour which are priced in the range of Rs 25.92 lakh to up to Rs 31.12 lakh.
They are also planning to launch Passat model afterwards which is likely to go against Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
