Toyota to bring safer and fuel efficient small cars to India

Known for the production of high-on-comfort vehicles Fortuner, Innova and Corolla Altis, Toyota Motorworks has made up its mind to work in the Small budget friendly cars segment. It challenges to develop safer and more fuel efficient cars than Maruti and Hyundai, which stand high on the pedestal of providing cheap and best Alto and i10 respectively.

The company shall work extensively with Daihatsu in order to dispatch the best small cars to Indian markets with their cheap and effective technology. Akito Tachibana, MD of Toyota Kirloskar optimistically claimed that he is keenly looking forward to turn this project into reality and will begin to assess the expectations of Indian buyers from this segment before developing the concept in accordance with the market. 

After a cold response given to Etios and Liva, the company is trying yet another time, only after the implementation of BS-VI in April 2020. Not much details have been shared any further about the plan of execution. 

They exclaimed that the car will be a proper hybrid and shall have bigger crash zone and engine compartment in the next 5 years. It will be diesel based, and have much better fuel efficiency as compared to other competitors doing well in the market. It might reduce the passenger seating space, but Tachibana proclaimed that that wont be a situation as their objective is to make a car for the comfort of a small family. 

The company will also bring all new Corolla Altis saloon and is also the introduction of Lexus brand in India is making rounds.
