Toyota’s D Segment offering. Launches New Altis

 

Hyundai and Skoda comping up with their versions of the updated D segment Sedans made toyota to update its product portfolio to line up in the race. The Japanese car maker launched the face lifted sedan - The Toyota Corolla at a price of Rs. 15.87 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi).

Toyota has now cut down to the number of variants available in the Toyota corolla to 4 in petrol and 2 in diesel and interestingly the petrol variant is available in CVT.Toyota has also come up with a new colour-"Phantom Brown” to make this generation different from all the previous ones.

A new front Facia has been given to the Toyota corolla and that is the biggest changed offered in the latest version. The design now is based on the Corolla Furia concept that was unveiled as pre cursor to this generation of the D-segment sedan in 2013. 

The rear is similar to the previous one but a dash of sportiness has been added to the car with the new alloy wheels.The cabin retains its beige and black combination but now with a revised dashboard, reclining rear seats and auto folding ORVMs.

In terms of the engine it follows the footsteps of the previous generation Corolla Altis. Just like before, it comes with a 1.8 Litre petrol engine that gives out 140 PS of power and 173MN of torque and the 1.4 litre diesel generates 88PS of power and 205Nm of torque.The petrol engine is mated to a six-speed manual box or a seven-speed CVT automatic and the diesel mill comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission only.

This Japanese car will be offered in colors like White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Mica Metallic, Champagne Mica Metallic, Grey Metallic, Super White & Celestial Black.
