With the coming of Guenter Butsheck, Tata Motors is seeing some major turnarounds in the functioning of the company. With the vision of cutting the capital investment and re-managing the authorities in service, Butscheck has been taking some severe steps on that road to fulfilling the vision. For the very first time in the history of Tata Motors, the company will go under prominent designation choppings and repositioning of employee targets and ranks. almost 1500 of employees will be reassigned with their roles in the company and almost 2500 positions will be nullified. 
 
The hierarchy system shall see a major rank cutting in order to do away with unnecessary or disguised employment. Also, the works handled by those rank holders, if not disguised, shall be redistributed amongst the reshuffled employees. 
 
The whole procedure will save 400 to 500 crore rupees, as was told by Gajendra Chandel, head of human resources at Tata Motors. Savings shall come from stricken out positions and revised employments. Almost 700 to 800 jobs shall go to dustbin after the revision. The company also is likely to cut almost 3000 employments at the factory workforce.
 
The growing competition, coming of GST and changing the atmosphere of transportation habits of the customers has also influenced the decision vastly. 
 
The biggest boon of the move shall be transparent operations amongst company officials, with a reduction of 14 layers of hierarchy to mere 4 effective layers. Seeing the leadership capability, functional depth, business understanding and organisational understanding of the employees, the final filtration of the employees were carried out.
