Tata Motors And Microsoft Collaborate

 

One of the auto majors from India, Tata Motors has joined hands with globally leading tech savvy company Microsoft Inc. to update the facade of transportation by a notch. Both Guenter Butschek, CEO and MD of Microsoft and Anant Maheshwari, President of Tata Motors India shook hands over the agreement that aims to achieve a fast paced innovation by amalgamating their respective fields. Tata's vehicles will take the advanced technology of connected and personalized vehicles technology of Microsoft that will incorporate Artificial Intelligence, advanced machine learning, and the Internet of Things capabilities on the global hyper-scale Azure cloud. This way it will combine the digital and physical world, thus bringing together all the vehicles that will operate on this technology and make them much safer and self-dependent. 
 

They target to propose the plan at the Geneva Motors Show scheduled to be held on 7th March'2017. At first, they will showcase the development of the project through Tata's unique user interface application and Microsoft's service suite enabled functionality like advanced navigation, predictive maintenance, telematics and remote monitoring features. The main advantage of this feature will be that it will make the driving experience more time utilizing as people will be more connected on social and entertainment front. It will also incorporate cool features like cloud computing, analytics, geospatial & mapping. Microsoft Azure cloud computing technologies will provide features like advanced navigation, predictive maintenance and vehicle-centric services, remote monitoring of car features, external mobile experiences and over-the-air updates.
 

 

Even reliance vertical Jio made an announcement of developing app controlled automobile technology that would provide features like immobilizing car at the time of the theft, to alert owner about car movement, locate the car and also provide wi-fi within the car and a lot more features. Seems like the automobiles are trying their best to make the driving experience of the customers as smooth and safe as possible. We all know that machines reduce the chances of human error and it seems like that is what the above-mentioned ventures aims to achieve, thus making human life safer and convenient. 
 

 

Tata motors have also discontinued its small car Nano, hatchback Indica, and compact sedan Indigo vehicles. They claim that the products have been on sales in the market for a pretty long time and they felt the need to withdraw them and welcome the newer technology based cars in India in a more planned out way, with their newly established subdivision of TaMo.
