Skoda unveils Octavia RS

The Czech based automotive - Skoda has recently revealed the all-new Octavia vRS which is expected to hit the Indian markets in April 2017. The company has done decent enough with its previous three generations of D-segment Octavia owing to its awe deserving features and numerous variants of ambition and style plus available to select from. The car shall price in the range of Rs 18-21 lakhs.

Highlights:

This high-on-luxury sedan looks much more sporty and is installed with new body kit, bold vRS badging at the back, honeycomb-shaped air intakes on the re-designed front grille, bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a black diffuser at the back, chrome plated exhaust tips, a rear spoiler and red painted brake callipers.

Transmission:

The car has 2.0-litre 141bhp 16V Diesel Engine with peak torque and power of 320Nm@1750-3000rpm and 141bhp@4000rpm respectively, capable of reaching top speed of 205 kmph within 18 seconds. 

Exteriors:

The overall look has been inherited from its successive car with new narrow LED headlights, tubeless radial 17-19 inch tall wheels and mesh grille. Dual quad-shaped exhausts at the rear are also a new addition. the car is 4659mm long, 1814mm wide and 1476mm tall.

Interior:

Manually operated, the car has a dashing pitch black cabin with 5-inch infotainment system, Integrated 2DIN Audio, Bluetooth Connectivity, USB & Auxiliary input, Low, Fuel Warning Light and Automatic Climate Control. It can comfortably seat 5 people on fabricated upholstery and ambient lighting inside. the cargo volume is 590 Litres, with foldable 60:40 split back seat. It does not possess a navigation system, engine start-stop button and many other features which might reduce its safety quotient.

Competition:

With numerous launches already announced round the corner, the car shall see Baleno RS, Maruti Ignis, Volvo V40 and V40cc and Tata Hexa in a neck to neck competition.
