Self-Sufficiency In Rubber Production

Image result for rubber sales gone up domestically

Lately, the imports of rubber based tyres have reduced significantly in our country which can directly be attributed to the self- reliance attained by us in sufficient production of the raw material from which tyres are made, ie, rubber. According to the Rubber Board, the production at domestic front increased by 22% and NR import declined by 7% simultaneously.

“With improving availability of natural rubber in domestic markets, there is a perceptible drop in NR import. That lends credence to the industry’s position that NR imports are taking place to meet the domestic deficiency or in view of non-availability of certain grades of rubber on quality parameters.” as was quoted by the chairman of Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association, Satish Sharma

It was seen that there hasn't been any strong export of rubber from our country and the domestic prices of NR is 20% lower than the international standards. this might have boosted up the production of rubber in our own country and after attaining a complete self-reliance, they are taking a step further to export rubber as well.
