Renault plans to be among top 5

The market is ruled by Maruti and Hyundai with a notable margin as compared to other car majors in our country, including France based Renault Motorworks. If not the top three, Renault makes its plans more rational by aiming to enter the top 5 rankers of Indian auto facade by the year 2020. at present, the company sells 3 mn units a year, which accounts for a 4.5% market share. In order to climb up the ladder, the company shall add 50 new dealerships in India by 2020, and make it over 300 mark. It is considered to be the fastest growing car brand along with a volume providing numerous dealers all across the country. 
 
At present, the brand is selling 3 premium models in here, ie, Kwid, People's favourite Duster and MPR Lodgy. With these, the company has set its foot firm with only 30% provision of what the company has globally and still doing a very well business.  Of the 1,32,235 units it sold in 2016, a growth of 146% over 2015 was recorded. The Kwid is the biggest grosser in the hatchback section with 75% of the volume sold followed by the Duster with around 20% and 5% for the Lodgy. 
 
It has already jumped 3 levels up in the last two years. But going any further might involve newer launches by the company that are as promising as the previous ones and a sharper business plan on the promotional front as they are doing well with volume front so far, accounting to 4 lakh units sold in the last 5 years. Also, the Renault alliance with global major Nissan has pumped more than Rs 6,000 crore into the country so far and employees over 12,000.
