We shall elaborate on the French carmaker that plans to make it to India via CK Birla conglomerate chain's networks. The Peugeot and Citroen cars withdrew themselves from the Indian market in the late 1990s. Now the PSA Group has signed a joint venture deal with the family-owned conglomerate of Birla Group for the production of their cars at the Chennai assembly plant with current production capacity of 12,000 vehicles/year. Peugeot's Chief Executive, Carlos Tavares, had mentioned in his recent word with the media at Paris Motor Show 2016 that the company is looking forward to establishing partnerships to enter India. It will be interesting to see as to how they achieve the target of dispatching one million units in half a decade into the Indian markets.
