Petrol-run Utility Vehicles Sales Doubles in September

Government’s policies are taken into consideration by the utility vehicle buyers, as a result there is a shift in fuel preference towards petrol.

There is a 8 percent increment in petrol powered utility vehicles as compared to last year, believes the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.

Moreover petrol powered models sold more than double units  as compared to diesel versions. This is clearly an outcome of Supreme Court’s ban and its upliftment in August.

So companies like Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra  & Mahindra and Toyota Motors has reworked on their plans, and have launched petrol-powered models for their popular vehicles now.

Moreover, “the uncertainty which exists over the life cycle of a diesel vehicle and the restrictions which were placed on sale of diesel vehicles last year, have left consumers cautious. Sales of petrol utility vehicles are expected to continue to grow over the next few years.”

This in fact has become a sale increment formula, “at Honda today, as much as 75% of sales come in from petrol versions” and at Maruti around 70 percent comes in from petrol cars.
