Parking Space must if you plan to buy a Car in Karnataka

GST, fuel prices and now parking spaces. Buying a car in Karnataka becomes more difficult. The number of cars in the country have been increasing ever since and adding to that is the strong standing second hand market. With the already high number, parking in many cities is another problem. This problem is going to be a major factor when you buy your next car.

The Karnataka Government has proposed a program where in the car buyers must prove that they have adequate parking spaces for their cars. If proved, they will be able to take further their registration process.

The government has sent a proposal to Parliament to include this rider in the Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill, which is pending before a committee of the Rajya Sabha.

The panel is taking up suggestions from other states to implement the rule is the right manner. A few suggestions have been brought up in the drill. The car buyer, after buying his car and before registration will have to get a no objection certificate from the municipal corporation there by declaring that he/she has a proper place to keep it. And thus, can go on with the registration process.

Illegal and on road parking had been choking up the roads of both the big and the small cities. With a measure like this, there will be peace in the city and of course lesser complaints of cars parked the wrong way and in the wrong areas.

One flaw that the panel is still working on is that the transport department looks after the vehicle registration and the municipal corporation looks after the parking scenario. Thus, both of these committees have to come together to implement the rule in a better way.

The so proposed plan will help in reduction of traffic and will help in having better and well maintained roads.
