No entry to the driver less cars in India: Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister gave a very soar statement for the companies moving towards the innovation of the driverless cars. In his statement, Nitin Gadkari said, that India will not allow driverless cars to ply on the roads.

The statement was made keeping in mind the level of unemployment that it will create for the people living in a developing country like India.

“How Can we allow such vehicles when we already have a huge number of unemployed people?" Gadkari asked while interacting with reporters at his residence in the national capital.

Getting the facts right, Gadkari said that there is already a shortage of about 22,000 good trained drivers in India and adoption and promotion of the driverless cars will add to the grave problem.

The minister made it very clear to the overseas driverless car manufacturers and said that the government is not interested in giving any relief from the import duty for such vehicles coming to India.

"I have told the manufacturers that they can come and manufacture here. There is no question of tax relief," he said.

The Minister also said that there companies that are working on the electric cars, cars that can travel upto 240km in a single charge.
