Hyundai Motor India has launched its 5th generation Verna in New Delhi today at an introductory price Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The introductory price is just for first 20000 customers, company plans to revise the price after that.
With very attractive pricing the new Verna will throw a tough competition for Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City. As it is Rs 34,000 costlier than Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Rs 46,000 cheaper than Honda City. Hyundai is known for feature packed cars at a very reasonable price. Hyundai has added many 1st in segment features in new Verna, with strong combination of power and torque
1.6L dual VTVT Petrol and 1.6L U2 Common rail technology BGT diesel engine. The petrol variant gives 123 PS power at 6400 rpm while generating a maximum torque of 15.4 Kgm @ 4850 rpm. While the diesel gives 128 PS power @ 4000 rpm and 26.5 kgm torque @ 1500-3,000 rpm.
Hyundai is always concerned about customers safety, New Verna comes with dual airbags, anti-lock brake systems (abs) and EBD. It comes with ISOFIX as standard fitment. It also features front projector fog lamps and impact sensing auto door unlock which is first in segment feature.
Built on new K2 platform (same as Elantra) comes with new McPherson Sturt suspension in front and couple torsion beam axle (CTBA)with vertical absorber along with Hydraulic rebound stopper rear for improved damping.
