The diesel lineup under E-class shall go from 200 @ 56.15 lacs preferred as a chauffeur-driven sedan, to 220d @57.14 lakhs with a longer wheelbase and spacious rear for the passengers and 350d @69.47 Lakhs for affordable service packages.
Transmission:
The sedan runs on a 2.0-litre 192bhp 400 Nm 16V CDI Diesel Engine. It is controlled and operated via 9 speed automated direct steer gear box. It is capable of attaining a top speed of 240 km/hr out of which 100 km/hr speed is reached in mere 7.8 seconds. It displaces 1950 cc.
Interior:
The saloon looks high-end luxurious for the inside, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting is a cherry on the cake. It is spacious enough to seat 5 people comfortably with 540 litres of luggage keeping space at the back but it lacks basic facilities like cup holders, ventilated seats, and infotainment controls for rear passengers. The cabin holds a multi-functional Powered steering wheel along with a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connect. It also has automatic climate and air quality control, voice control and seat lumbar support.
Exterior:
The front holds bold and sleek LED DLRs headlamps and taillamps, rain-sensing windscreen wipers. On the sides, it has a17-inch alloy wheels on a tubeless radial tyre of wheelbase 3079mm. It is available in citrine brown, iridium silver, selenite grey metallic, obsidian black and polar white colour options. It is 5063mm long, 1860mm wide and 1494mm tall.
Safety:
Saloons like these are hard to fail on safety provision. Such is the case with Mercedes-Benz as well. It has engine start-stop button, the navigation system, child lock, anti-theft alarm, and 7 airbags.
Competition:
It shall go against BMW 5-series, Audi A6, and Jaguar XF which own similar customer interest and inclination towards luxury and fast paced transmission as e class of Mercedes-Benz.
