Maruti’s Deliveries to Affect Company’s Image

RC Bhargava, the Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, fears that longer waiting periods for the delivery of new launches Baleno hatchback and compact SUV Vitara Brezza, is not good for the company in the future run.

With the company’s new launches running successfully, rather far better than the company’s expectations, longer waiting periods not only upset the customers but also make them to shift to the options from other auto companies.

In the AGM of MSI, Bhargava addressed that it is highly important to address this issue and find the right solution to it as soon as possible this mismatch of demand and production can create a negative image of the company in the long run.

As part of the measures to reduce the long waiting period and also keeping in mind the company's sales target of two million units annually by 2020, the functioning of parent Suzuki's Gujarat plant has been advanced and it will start rolling out Baleno from early next year.

MSI has its production hub in the state of Gujarat, and the management plans to work over speeding up of production so that they could deliver their cars without causing any incipience to their customers.

"Our approach will be to ensure that production in future matches market demand. We also don't want to create so much capacity which remains unutilized," Bhargava said.

Elaborating further, he said the product which will be made in Gujarat is going to be Baleno.
