Already tried his its hands on an electric hatchback (e2o) and another electric Sedan (e-Verito), Mahindra decides to become a rebel in the electric segment. Ever since it has teamed up with Reva, the home grown company has been on a roller coaster ride. With e-vehicles like e2o and 2-Verito and of coarse its major decision to contest in the Formula E race Mahindra is all set to come sup with something bigger.
Here is the good news! The company is now eyeing on the idea of producing an all electric SUV by 2020. Mahindra also plans to price it as “affordable for all”.
Moreover, in a meeting, Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra reportedly said, "If anyone is preparing feverishly for a disruptive future of mobility, it is Mahindra."
It seems to be a bright phase for the manufacturers wanting to flourish in the e-car segment. Also, the government has set up various policies and discounts on the purchase of e-cars. With such policies the government wants to encourage the potential buyers to adopt to the lesser polluting vehicles and get a little more sensitive towards the environment.
Recently, a lot of companies have come up with their hybrid and electric options.
