Kia Sonet receives 6500 bookings on first day

New Delhi: Kia India on Friday has claimed that its new Sonet compact SUV has received 6,523 bookings on the first day, setting a new record. The automaker has opened bookings for the SUV on August 20, 2020 ahead of its market launch scheduled in mid-September.

Sonet compact SUV is available for bookings at an amount of Rs 25,000.

Commenting on this, Kookhyun Shim, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Kia India, said, “The tremendous response to the all-new Sonet, proves that there is never a bad time to launch a good product. It also shows that the faith of Indian consumers in Brand Kia has grown leaps and bounds over just one year of our operation in India. With the Sonet, we offer customers a product that boasts world-class quality, powerful design, cutting-edge technology, unparalleled features, and a staggering variety of options."

The Kia Sonet compact SUV is claimed to have 57 features integrated to its UVO connected technology. The compact SUV is a made-in-India model and will be exported to several overseas markets.

Kia is offering the Sonet compact SUV in Tech Line and GT-Line options. The Tech Line comes available in trims like HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+.

The SUV is available with the option of petrol engines including a Smartstream 1.2-litre four-cylinder unit and a 1.0 T-GDi one. On the other hand, there is a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine as well. The transmission options for the car include 5 and 6-speed manuals, a 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed automatic along with a 6-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT).
