JRL’S first plug-in hybrid to hit the roads very soon

The Jaguar Land-Rover, Tata owned luxury auto brand has a surprise for its fans this month. The company has a new car in the lineup, that is first of its kind. The Range Rover Sport p400e. The first hybrid car by the JLR.


The company’s new range if hybrid plug-ins, that is, the Range Rover Sport p400e the coming month. It is an adaptation of the new SVR model.

Talking about the Sport p400e, it os packed with a 13kwh lithium-ion battery that is good enough to sail 31-mile in one go. It is also powered with a longitudinally mounted 2-litre ingenious turbocharged petrol engine that runs on a combination with the 85kW electric motor. The engine is able enough to churn out 399bhp and 472lb-ft of torque.


As per a statement given by the company, it claims that the emissions and economy figures stands at 64g/km and 101mpg, respectively.

 

Also the time taken to charge the lithium-ion battery has been clearly worked out. A one time recharge of the battery ranges from two-and three-quarter hours using a 32amp rapid charger, or seven-and-a-half hours if using the standard 10amp charging cable.

the car has an eight speed automatic transmission system, and a new transfer case for the all-wheel drive system. The company claims that the car can run upto 137mph top speed.

The only drawback of this car looks to be its weight. Which may reduce the performance of the car after some time.
