Jaguar E-Pace to hit the road on July the 13th

Recently, CarDealerRater had reviewed the luxury. Yes! The Jaguar F-Pace. And now there is some spiced up news for the luxury lovers. The company is all set to launch the F-Pace’s younger sibling, that is, the Jaguar E-Pace.

The upcoming Jaguar E-pace will be launched on the 13th July and will be the second compact SUV by Jaguar. Jaguar being the sister company of Range Rover (a company that rules the SUV segment) took the SUV dive very late.

The upcoming E-Pace will carry the features of its elder “Pacer”, however will be offered in a smaller package with the main target of hitting a bigger market space.

While the company has revealed just one teaser image till now, some heavily disguised test mules of the car have been spotted testing on the roads of Coventry and Warwickshire.

Moreover, Jaguar’s director of design, Ian Callum recently said, “The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-Pace stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-Pace will do just that.”

The car will be based on the LR-MS steel platform and will be in competition with Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque.

The car will be offered with a 2.0lt four-cylinder petrol and diesel Ingenium engines and possess multiple tuning options. The high end model will be powered with a 237bhp 2.0-litre diesel and a 247bhp 2.0-litre petrol.

There are many speculations about this Jaguar. Some predict that this model will feature a sports car-derived all-wheel drive technology that will come with a choice of either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Others claim that it could be the first Jaguar to be mild hybrid powertrain that would be added to the Discovery Sport and the Evoque later on.
