Jaguar E Pace’s World Premier

Jaguar is in the news for all the good reasons. Jaguar’s third SUV has made a debut in the city of London. This SUV will join the all electric I-Pace concept and will also join the 2017 World car of The Year Award.This compact SUV that is manufactured in China will be up for sale in 2018.

The E-Pace’s exteriors are taken from the F-Pace sports car and has a similar design.With the Jaguar’s distinctive grille, muscular proportions, short overhangs and powerful haunches, the sports car DNA is very much visible. The fast swept roofline and a side window graphic makes it distinctive.

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, said: “Established Jaguar design principles ensure the E-PACE is immediately recognisable as the sports car of its class. Our new compact SUV combines the interior space, connectivity and security that families expect with the kind of proportions, purity of design and performance not usually associated with such a practical vehicle”

The interiors talk luxury with the 10-inch touchscreen InControl infotainment system as standard. This system is highly interactive and allows the drivers to use their favourite apps including Spotify. Also the car and interface allows the owner to keep the vehicle very secure by tracking  the vehicle using a smartphone or a smartwatch.

It also has four 12-volt charging points and five USB connections as well as a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices.

The E-PACE is the first Jaguar to feature the company’s next-generation Head-Up Display technology.The advanced display projects upto 66 percent more view area than the mainstreams.The E-PACE features the very latest safety and driver assistance technologies.

 

 A stereo camera underpins the advanced Autonomous Emergency Braking system, which also provides pedestrian detection and supports Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition, as well as the Intelligent Speed Limiter and Driver Condition Monitor systems. Front and rear parking aids are standard. Other safety features include six airbags, seatbelts with pre-tensioners, two ISOFIX points for child seats, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Emergency brake lights (EBL), Emergency brake assist (EBA), Corner Brake Control (CBC) etc. to name a few.

Mechanically, the E PACE is available with a family of lightweight, all-aluminium 2.0L Ingenium petrol and diesel engines. The 2.0L Ingenium diesel engine is offered in three power and torque trims: 147bhp & 380Nm, 177bhp & 430Nm and 236bhp and 500Nm. Barring the front-wheel-drive 147bhp variant, both the higher variants come with an all-wheel-drive (4X4) system. On the other hand, the 2.0L Ingenium petrol engine can be availed in two power trims: 245bhp & 365Nm and 295bhp & 400Nm. Both these variants would be available with an all-wheel-drive system only. All the engines come mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission. Though, the 147bhp 2.0L diesel and 177bhp 2.0L diesel variants can also be availed with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
