For Indian Markets
Mahindra & Mahindra, the home based auto manufacturers have recently declared to be working on 2 new models for Indian customers. They are expected to be rolled out at the end of the fiscal year. One is the U321 (code name) multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) which has been developed on the new global platform developed here in Detroit and the other one is S 201 which is based on SsangYong platform of Tivoli. there is also a third one which is an electric vehicle that hasn't been talked about much yet.
"Last couple of years, we have not grown market share, but similarly, we haven't lost either," MD Pawan Goenka said. He also claimed that though they are investing heftily in newer projects still they are focused on expanding their already existing segments with these 2 new models in the pipeline.
For The US Markets
The Mahindra & Mahindra group plans to invest 1 billion US dollars in the development and expansion of their volume sales in the US markets for the next five year. This has come in light of expanding US revenues to 5 billion US dollars.The company has a net worth of 19 billion in US market alone. It shall see the market fluctuations in the coming year and make the right investment for the same.
With this, they also plan to increase the head count of their employees to carry out the functions better. Currently, it employees around 3 thousand people, and wishes to almost double the numbers.
