Talking about the 2016 edition of Indian Auto Expo, the majors from all over the globe made it to the grand event to showcase their latest technologies and upgradations in existing models that are the apple of the eyes of Indian customers. Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Tuscon, Jaguar XE Sports, Mercedez GLC, and S-class cabriolet, all widened up the horizons of charm and glory reaching to the lands of India from all over the world. But this year, the major car models under the banner of VW Group have put a reverse gear and refused to participate in 2018 edition of the Auto Expo.

Audi, General Motors, Volkswagen and Skoda have refused to put their vehicles on exhibition in the 14th auto expo to be held in Greater Noida the next year. Some other brands are also expected to join the league like Nissan and Ford for instance. The decision comes amidst of growing competition in the market with the coming of foreign automakers like Peugeot, Kia, SAIC, Tesla and others. These companies shall give a heavy competition as all the customers must be interested in buying cars of newer designs and output. Therefore, the companies seem sceptic over their role in the competition of the market (Rols), the effectiveness of their participation and how shall they return the investments made. Their withdraw might be a silent way of displaying their growing concerns over the shift of healthy competition in the auto sector.

The exit was confirmed by the MD of Volkswagen Group, Thierry Lespiaucq, with an optimistic hope to return in 2020 with better investment strategies and technologically developed units.
