Honda's First Crossover, WR-V Might See Its Launch In Mid 2017

The Winsome Runabout Vehicle edition of Japenese leading car makers is expected to be here around June'17, after its successful debut in Brazil the last year. With this, Honda will enter the sub four meter crossover segment for the first time. It is likely to go from 7.5 lakh for the base model to 10.5 lakh for the top model. Considering the fact that Honda has a good customers demand 

The crossover shall be designed on a Jazz rostrum with black front grille stylised with chrome inputs and a skid plate beneath and smoky LED Headlights. It has a stance very similar to a SUV designing. There will be an instrument cluster with three dials which shall consist of speedometer, tachometer and a driver information system. The major features on the WR-V will be key less entry, push start and stop button, 6 or 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, dual airbags and even ABS. All these features comprising in such a low price range is likely to create a lot of buzz. It will also have  better ground clearance and suspension especially added to favour Indian roads. Features like ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors and seat belts with pre-tensioners might also be added for the same.

Transmission:

The petrol variant would be powered by the 1.2L i-VTEC motor capable of giving mileage of 16-19 km/hr, which is expected to generate 89 bhp of power at 6000 revolutions per minute and 109 Nm of torque at 4500 revolutions per minute while the diesel variant would in-house the 1.5 L 4-cylinder i-DTEC engine capable of giving 25 km/hr mileage, which is expected to provide 90 bhp of maximum power at 3600 revolutions per minute and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 revolutions per minute. The company might offer three transmission options: 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual in diesel variant and CVT.
