It is raining hot hatch this season and data shows that these hatchbacks are selling like hot cakes. Nearly every manufacturer is coming with its offering. And here is another manufacturer to play its card. Yes, the Japanese multination Honda has launched its WR-V in the market today.
The Honda WR-V will be available in two variants, S and VX for the petrol and diesel engine options. The WR-V is a good mix of features, power, comfort and quality.After the Jazz, this honda product offers a good space due to a longer wheel base.
The WR-V’s engine and transmission are Jazz based and is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers 89 hp of power at 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm, while the diesel generates 99 hp of power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. The two engines are available in Manual transmission with a 5-speed petrol and 6-speed diesel transmission. Unlike the Jazz, the WR-V misses out on the CVT transmission offered with the petrol engine.
The interior and design are quite smooth and it welcomes you with a black intro which is been garnished with silver axils.It also features a 7-inch DIGIPAD infotainment system which made its debut with the latest Honda City and it supports support Mirrorlink, Bluetooth and USB. The features through out the variant line up are quite similar but the top end variant offers steering mounted controls, cruise control and push-button start/stop with keyless entry.It also delights you with a sunroof.
Safety has definitely condemned Honda as it comes up with dual airbags, ABS and EBD and the top variant it comes with a defogger and rear wipers.

Honda WR-V SMT petrol is priced at Rs.7,75,000 (Ex Showroom) and VX MT variant is priced at Rs. 8,99,000 (Ex Showroom). Whereas the Diesel SMT will be priced a Rs. 8,79,000
(Ex Showroom) and VX MT at Rs. 9,99,000 (Ex Showroom). It can give tough competition to its rivals, mainly owing to a good balance between space and convenience features.
