When it comes to the provision of features and functions in C- segment, Maruti Suzuki and Honda Motorworks always stay in a neck to neck competition for their respective buyers. With the hitting of Maruti Ciaz in the markets, Honda somewhat lost its clench overall but it is planning to make a strong comeback with its Honda City Facelift ahead of the dispatch of Maruti Ciaz in the market. The car already went on sales in Thailand and is set to meet us in the markets in later part of February'2017. The former edition had its pricing in the bracket of Rs 8.32-12.66 lakh, so the facelift is likely to remain or exceed a little bit by the same pricing.
Not many improvements were seen in the C-segment automobiles the last year, but it seems that 2017 has come up with a lot of competition in the segment, with Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and Honda facelift already making rounds to get launched pretty soon followed by Chevrolet Cruze and Nissan Sentra.
Highlights:
The sedan shall witness reworked fascia with a new bumper styilising and a narrower front grille with chrome finish. It shall possess LED headlamps so as to compete with the Maruti Ciaz which provides projector headlamps as a standard. The rear bumper also sees minute up gradation with smaller foglamps housings. It shall have a 10 mm more raised suspension, 16-inch alloys instead of 15-inchers and a boot spoiler with middle LED stop light as compared to the previous edition.
Talking about its insides, the sedan shall have Android and iOS compatible infotainment system with LED maps and ambient interior roof lights. Safety has also been taken care of by adding dual curtain airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA) and a multi-angle rearview camera.
Transmission:
The car shall continue to have the same engine on work, ie, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine (5-speed manual gearbox/CVT) or 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine (6-speed manual gearbox).
