Convenience is now at your doorstep. This is the time when you can get your food delivered home, your clothes delivered home. However, this is the time when you can get your car’s registration certificate delivered home.
The Transport department go the Delhi government has taken this initiative. The authority has decided to send all the registration certificates to the car owner, via speed post. The RCs will be delivered at the car owner’s doorstep directly. The pilot of this project has already started from the 1st of October 2017.
The process is just like the one which you go through when you apply for passport. The car owners can get all the information about their RCs directly on to their phone via a simple text message. The owners will also be informed about the status of their Registration Certificate generation directly onto their telephones.
This policy will be beneficial in two ways. One, it will be a hassle-free process for the car buyer. And two, this will also make sure that no car owner gives a wrong or fake address proof.
The government with this initiative and other initiative that are of similar nature, are trying to make an online presence and use internet as a strong mode. It has also made certain processes online, including provision of trade certificates to dealers, renewal of licenses and permits such as the All India Tourist Permit for taxis.
