E-Cars, way forward

The picture looks brighter with a lot of big car manufacturers all over the world are getting into the making of cars that are more environment friendly. E-cars, hybrids, hydrogen cells, solar, and many more technologies are becoming more acceptable to the users as well. Technological development by these automakers along with the governments’ initiations for helping people adopt these at a lesser price makes the future picture a bit brighter and the development more sustainable.

Talking about the technological developments on the E-cars over the span of time, these battery-operated cars were slow and expensive. They would save fuel but were expensive and took years to charge. And you would think a hundred times before planning to go for a long drive.

But the way these have been developed is marvelous. The technology changes with a blink of your eye. Now you can charge your e-cars is lesser time. Say you leave for home from work to go to your friend’s house party. Reach. Charge. Change. And you are good to leave. High speed charging, more battery life, powerful performances all make the e-cars a super car.

The International Energy Agency predicts the number of electric vehicles on the road worldwide will increase from 2 million today to 20 million by 2020, and to 70 million by 2025.

The Chinese government is set on boot-strapping its car industry into the electric age with tax breaks, research subsidies and a ruling that by 2020, 12% of all vehicles sold in the country must be electric.

And the UK, France, Norway, India and several other countries intend to go one better by phasing out petrol and diesel engines entirely in the coming decades.

An e-cars performance is largely dependent upon the battery and the power it supplies. And with better batteries coming to the market, the e-cars looks to be the bright future of the world.
