At the recent CES 2018 held in LA, Toyota Motor Corporation President, Akio Toyoda announced that Toyota will have electric or electrified options for their entire Toyota/ Lexus line-up by 2025.
At the event, Toyota announced partnerships in the pipeline with Amazon and Uber for foraying into autonomous driving. The goal is to transform Toyota into a mobility company rather than an automobile company. A serious step in that direction is its latest electric concept called e-Palette.
e-Palette will be useful for all business needs of home-delivering orders to people’s homes, dropping people off like cabs, etc. With this, Toyota’s vision is to give competition to non-auto companies like Google, Facebook, etc. who are also foraying into autonomous driven cars and connected cars in the future.
Technology and connectivity is the future of automobiles and this was the crux of Toyoda’s address at CES 2018 due to which the company is working on autonomous driving and electrification of vehicles, which falls in line as, Toyota is currently providing 37 electrified options to almost 90 countries in the World.
