Chinese Company GWM Signs MOU with Maharashtra Govt.

GWM, a Chinese company known for making SUVs in China has signed MOU with the Maharashtra government for the manufacturing facility in Pune. The company has already signed one agreement in Jan 2020 for acquiring GM plant in Talegaon, also the company has announced one billion dollars of investment in India for car manufacturing, at the AutoExpo 2020.MOU ceremony was done virtually between the Chinese ambassador, GWM top management, and Maharashtra CM Uddhav, minister of industries Subhash Desai.

As per Parker Shi managing director, GWM India said that this would be a highly automated plant in Talegaon with advanced robotics technology integrated with many of the production processes. He also mentioned that the R&D center in Bangalore, alone would create jobs to over 3000 people in a phased manner.
