BMW To Invest In Indian Operations

Another addition to the total investment made by Bentley Motorworks in Indian operations. With 130 crores of further investment, the sum reaches to 1120 crores in the first half of the year. The input aims at strengthening the overall operations of the country based plants in a smooth assembly of its manufactured vehicular parts. It is expected to go further up to Rs. 1250 crores to facilitate the launch of 5 Series later t
 
his month and 6 Series Gran Turismo (GT) model the next year and dealerships expansion, as was told by Indian operational President Vikram Pawah. 

 

Recently, it also brought the mobile studio of BMW cars showcase available in 50 towns of our country. Such ideas keep the company all fresh and going. "We are locally producing eight of our total 16 models that are available. So as we introduce new models, also the new 5 Series, will be produced in the Chennai plant." Pawah commented, revealing about their plans to keep up the good pace in Indian operations. It aims to be the fastest growing manufacturers around the globe, irrespective of fancy numbers recorded on boards by its rivals Mercedez and Audi, this year the growth being 8%. "The idea is to grow the segment. Currently, in India, premium car segment remains less than 2 percent of the total passenger vehicle market (3 million last fiscal) as compared to 5-10 per cent in various countries," Pawah said. 
 

With 130 crore investment and further ones, the company shall be able to expand in volumes which stand at 35 thousand/year at present. Let's hope for the best for the manufacturers.
