Audi’s new Drophead R8 in now more powerful

The German house of power, the head turner, the Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder is now the talk of the town. And of course! Its more powerful, more stylish and improved. It has now been added with a host of features and better mechanicals. The overall changes to the R8 V10 makes it a more desirable package.

To begin with exteriors, the single frame and flat grill with honeycomb mesh and the chrome plated frame with the Audi Sport logo will make you skip a beat at its first look. Optional Audi laser light in the LED headlights, anodized blue dividers as well as the dynamic turn signals are all part of the front look. The side blades, sill trim, lid on the convertible top compartment and the fixed rear spoilers are all constructed from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP).

The soft-top which is made up of fine fabric and weighs approx. 44kg and the electrohydraulic drive can open-close the soft-top in just 20 at speeds up to 50kmph.

The Interiors are black and styled with the Napa leather and the stitching is in contrast with the color of the car. The cabin is leather styled and its steering is mounted with the multifunction buttons and two large control satellites. It can be used to start and stop the engine and control Audi drive select. The two buttons and the iconic rotary wheel can be used to control the performance mode and the exhaust flaps.

The power hub of this supernova, that is, the V10 Engine packs 610 PS of power, a 70PS bump over the ‘standard’ V10 Spyder.  This much power is enough to accelerate the R8 V10 Spyder from 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds – 0.3 seconds faster than the previous model. It can also achieve 325 kmph of top speed, an increase of 10 kmph.
