In case your vehicle crosses the 80 kmph mark the system will make sounds of beeps alerting the driver. And when the speed crosses 90 kmph the system would beep continuously to alert both the driver and the co passenger.

The Road Transport and Highways Ministry has approved the decision and the file is waiting an approval from other authorities. the process should be finished in a fortnight.

Added to this the ministry is also likely to install more cameras on the highways to ensure strict rules and regulations are followed, and have already made airbags a mandatory safety feature in all the cars.

The proposed Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Bill 2016 proposes hefty penalties for violation of traffic norms including penalties in the range of Rs 1,000-Rs 4,000 for overspending.
