While the jats protesting to seek the caste based reservation and creating a riot stir in the whole of Haryana, Maruti faces a temporary suspension of its production at the Manesar plant.
Maruti on Saturday stated in its press release, “Owing to the agitation in Rohtak and nearby areas, supplies of certain components have been disrupted. As a consequence, the Company has had to temporarily suspend manufacture of cars at its facilities in Manesar and Gurgaon, starting Saturday (February 20) second half.”

It also said that it is making arrangements for components from elsewhere and would restore the production process once it succeeds.
The combined output from Manesar and Gurgaon is currently about 5000 vehicles per day, and hence, production loss will be limited to 2,500 units if the protests subside over the weekend. However, the production may suffer if the protests continue.
