Tata goes ‘gaga’ about the new SUV - Harrier

The home grown automobile giant - Tata Motors - went live with tit’s new SUV’s archietectural design, which is inspired from the 'OMEGARC' (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) platform taken from Land Rover's D8 architecture.

The new SUV is named ‘Harrier’ which was commended as tata H5X was showcased at the 2018 Auto-Expo which was held in Greater Noida.

The company, in a statement assured that, over one million SUVs including the Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Jaguar E-Pace are based on the Jaguar Land Rover's D8 architecture.

Talking about the design and its utility, the company told that the optimised torsional and bending stiffness, which are the design features of this SUV, will be positive in handling the rugged terrains and keeping them under great control.

The auxiliary isolation panels, between the passengers' cabin and the engine compartment, will help the customers to have a quiet cabin.

In terms of safety, crumple zones are designed using high strength steel for better protection, the company said in the video.

In India, the Harrier is expected to be launched in January 2019. Initially, the car will be rolled out in a five-seat design but expected to be followed by a seven-seater version.
