Honda Cars launched Civic diesel,starts at Rs 20.75 lakh

New Delhi: Japanese carmaker Honda Cars India launched the 10th generation BS-VI Honda Civic in its diesel variant on Thursday, starting at Rs 20,74,900.

The new Civic diesel will be available in VX and ZX grade at Rs 20,74,900 and Rs 22,34,900 respectively (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

Powered by a 1.6L i-DTEC diesel turbo engine of Earth Dream Technology series, it offers a fuel economy of 23.9 km/l and a maximum power of 120 PS at 4,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm@2000 rpm. Further, it has been mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “With the introduction of the BS-VI diesel version of our iconic sedan Honda Civic, our entire sedan lineup will offer the choice of both petrol and diesel to cater to our esteemed customers. The diesel Civic is available in Manual Transmission and will appeal to customers looking for sheer driving pleasure.”

As per Honda, the diesel Civic in VX grade also gets additional curtain airbags, and now both the diesel grades in VX and ZX come with 6 airbags as standard.

Meanwhile, the petrol variant of the BS-VI Honda Civic, launched in March 2019 comes with a 1.8L i-VTEC petrol engine mated to a highly advanced Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
