Mercedes India launches new GLS SUV

New Delhi: Mercedes Benz India has launched the new version of GLS SUV which is priced at 99.99 lakh ex-showroom. The company claims that this new version will be like the S-Class of SUVs, they have increased the dimensions, with an additional 77 mm and 22 mm increase in length and breadth.

The petrol variant 450 4MATIC gets a new 3-litre six-cylinder engine that delivers 362 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque. The engine comes with an integrated starter generator for EQ Boost functionality. With this, the SUV is capable of accelerating from standstill to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds.

The diesel 400 d 4MATIC 3-litre six-cylinder powertrain delivers 330 PS of power and 700 Nm of torque. In this configuration, the SUV can accelerate to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds. Calling it the keeping in mind the charging requirement of customers the company offers 11 USB ports and two wireless charging options in the SUV.

As per the automaker, updated with Mercedes' latest MBUX system, it also gets two 11.6-inch displays for the second-row seats, driver assistance system, heated seats, 5-zone climate control, sliding panoramic sunroof, 13-set Burmester sound system and Napa leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The new GLS SUV will be assembled locally at the company's Pune based facility.
